Unfortunately I never found the time to write this journal entry on Thursday, so I'm writing it in the hotel at the end of the event, Saturday night. This was the day that we ran Memphis, which I had never run before and wasn't supposed to - it was one of the tracks my father had planned to run. Taking certain things into consideration, it was decided I would run the two road courses there and my father would run the drag and bracket races.

I did okay on the road courses (16th and 21st), and we were 15th in the overall drag race. The Eclipse finished 41st both times I believe. Unfortunately both cars were losing out on the LONG straight at Memphis. Jim had a bit of an issue with the clutch on the car, and ended up smoking all four tires in 1st and 2nd gears. I guess the car's a wee bit torquey.. :)

We had our Groupie from last year show up again (Jason Ernst), and he had upgraded from his old VW beater to a nice Camaro SS! Good upgrade Jason, and it was good having you around again (and a much improved way of following us between tracks!). Hope you had a good time.
