It's too bad you guys didn't run in the Economy class. It would have been a first in One Lap history. Never before has a car placed higher overall than the car that won the class...

Another, 'just to keep everyone updated'

Chrysler has once again shown it's true colors and withdrawn sponsorship from a team 'because they got a better offer'
In 1997 they withdrew the Neon and entry fee, leaving us high and dry, in favor of supporting a Viper GTS team. Luckily Volkswagen of America stepped up and provided us with a GTI that we used to stomp the factory Vipers butt.

This year we were promised a Year 2000 Neon, a spare engine for development, a spare suspension for development, and $10K in addition to the entry fee to make the new car fast. On March 9th, after weeks of not returning calls and stalling for time, they finally admitted that they had no intention of paying the bills or providing the vehicle.
As you know, Dodge is the new Official Vehicle Sponsor, unfortunately being faster than the timing or media vehicles won't matter.

We will still be carrying the decals of the sponsors who would have helped us build the Y2K Neon.
Special thanks go to:
JE Pistons
BRC Pistons
Crower Rods
Unorthodox Racing
The Nitrous Works
Captain Nemos Neon Performance
McLaren Engines Inc.
Mopar Action
Howell Automotive
MSD Ignition

We are in the process of trying to reassemble my car that was torn down "because we didn't need it" and hope to have it back together in time. Our head is in detroit, and there's no heater in the garage.
The car was good enough last year, here's hoping Jeremy didn't really do anything to the Nissan.

: Just to keep everyone updated, we've had a driver change
: in our team for this year's event. We're very happy to
: have Jim LaFevers with us again this year.

: Jim and I drove the Neon in the 1998 event to a very
: successful finish, 29th overall (the highest finishing Neon).

: We're very happy to be able to have him on board again,
: and I'm sure that he will once again prove to be a very
: valuable asset to the team.

:
: Glad you can race with us again Jim!
