Here I go again writing about the past! It's currently 4am on June 3rd, and instead of
catching some sleep, here I am writing this. What dedication, huh? :)

Jim ran the PPIR event as well, but unfortunately, didn't do quite as well as at Gateway.
During the first session (two hot laps) he went in a bit too hard and a bit too early into
the first hairpin, and got into the dirt and grass for a few seconds. On another lap the same
happened in the turn before the second hairpin, costing us precious seconds. We still finished
in the low 30's overall, though, so if it hadn't been for the lawn mowing practice, we
definitely would have been in the high 20's. Hey, you have to learn the car somehow!

During the last lap of the second session we mowed a small bit of grass again, costing us
at least two seconds. Again we finished in the 30's overall.

PPIR was definitely an educational experience, though: we've since dialed in the car a bit
better to make it more similar to what Jim's used to driving, and I'm sure that when he gets
back in the car at Memphis on the 4th, we'll again be in the 20's.

After we left PPIR, the Seven started missing. After pulling over, we reached the conclusion
that it was a vapor lock problem, and after trying to wrap the fuel line in aluminum foil
we got at a local hardware store, we took the hood off of the car, threw it in the back of
the Neon, and got moving. The added air on the line kept it cool enough to be driven in the
heat of Colorado, New Mexico and then Arizona. As the night came up, it was cool enough outside
to put the hood back on the car and get the added space in the back to sleep.

In overall standings, we're still right around the low 30's mark. We'll definitely try our
best to get into the 20's as the week progresses!
