Although it had been nearly a year since I last visited Lime Rock (in a trusty rental Mustang - they make great race cars, for $70/weekend!), I still remembered the track quite well and nothing had really changed. The morning session was a bit wet so I drove cautiously. The Supra is incredibly scary to drive in the rain, particularly with the G-Force T/A KD tires we have on the car, which are far from rain tires. Every time the turbo would spool up to full boost, the car would start to go sideways. The in-car should be great from this track, as several times you can see my hands turn the steering wheel one half of a turn and then back again in a fraction of a second, to keep the car going straight. We finished 8th Overall in the morning due to the wet conditions, as a few guys from mid-pack snuck in front of us as they had a dry track when they raced. In the afternoon session the track was dry for everyone, and we finished 4th Overall. The Eclipse is again operational! The clutch was indeed defective, all4 pucks separated from the disc! With a new RPS TurboClutch in the car (no more 4-puck nonsense), J.M. and Guy are on their way to Nelson Ledges to finish up the last two days of One Lap with us. Thanks a lot to Bruce of the Carolina Rod Shop for all of his work on the car and great ideas! Thanks to Steve of the Supra group for coming out to support us today. Steve set up a great web site with photos and a description of his experience there which you can visit at: http://www.nesupras.org/one_lap/one_lap.html.
